Be prepared for a big luxury chocolate bomb! Again inspired by patissier Eric Kayser’s Tartes et Gourmandises. I must confess, I changed two minor details of the original chocolate filling: 200g sugar to no sugar and 500ml cream to 50ml cream instead. It’s still an indulgence, promised! If someone is brave enough to try the original recipe let me know in the comments..     Tarte au Chocolat Noir et aux Noisettes for the dough: 250g tart dough with […]

Finally I hold in my hands French patissier Eric Kayser’s book Tartes et gourmandises, an insider’s tip among connoisseurs in matters of  tarts and taste. After the first browsing through this whole lot of  sweet delicacies I decided to bake each and every tart in my own kitchen and share the recipes with you. You will easily recognize the tartes et gourmandises  by their French title on the image.   Et voilá, number one, Tarte à la rhubarbe et à l’orange 300g tart dough with almonds […]

Breakfast / Cakes + Cookies / Sweets

For Easter I wanted to present you with our favourite Tiramisu recipes. The classic recipe comes directly from Rome, to be precise from Fabrizio, a good family friend. The other one is a dairy free version I came up with so that my oldest daughter could enjoy it too! We made half of each recipe in the same dish, and in the end we sprinkled dark chocolate dots on one side to tell them apart later. […]

how to make the best use of fruit pulp: vegan cookies

Cakes + Cookies / Snacks / Sweets

Sometimes I just can’t resist to use the leftover fruit pulp from juicing to make  cookies. The beautiful colour and scent of  squeezed oranges, apples and carrots – too good to discard! Courgette, pineapple and ginger are nice, as well.  I never used the pulp of kale, broccoli  or celery. Besides their strong flavour they tend to be stringy. Not really desirable in a sweet treat. vegan fruit pulp cookies 4 generous tablespoons fruit pulp 1 tablespoon ground flax […]

Cakes + Cookies / Sweets

It’s that very special time of the year. I’m burning pine-scented candles (Annick Goutal Noël  are the best!), I’m hanging box wreaths around the house and sipping spice tea whenever I have a quiet moment to spare. During the month of December I want to share with you some German Christmas bakery: the famous Dresdner Stollen, an elegant gold sprinkled chocolate and caramel tart and some easy-to-make pistachio rosewater snowballs. Dresdner Christstollen 1kg flour 120g yeast 200ml […]
