Jams + Preserves

Figs in Germany?? “Too cold”, you may think. Well; Heidelberg, the city where I was born, makes a great exception. It lies in a valley, so the weather conditions are rather untypical: hot in summer, mild in winter and humid all year round! I came for a visit, right on time to help my mother with the figs. I spent a day on a ladder and another one in the kitchen making two types of […]

Sweets

My friend’s plum tree was having a good year, in fact so good that Michaela found it impossible to eat all the plums herself. I transformed the basket of plums into this delicious, melting-in-your-mouth cream. NOT THE ALM […]

Dinner / Lunch

Last weekend I bought a whole armfull of fresh herb pots and so turned my windowsill into a summerly smelling little mediterranean garden. Italian parsley, chives, chervil, lemon balm, marjoram, thyme and rosemary… Best preconditions to prepare a simple and aromatic dish like the carrots with marjoram! You just need carrots, a 1st class sea salt, a 1st class olive oil and some sprigs from the marjoram pot. Spread the sliced carrots on a tin […]
